  1. First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9 x 5 bread pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the whole wheat flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar. Add the beaten eggs, applesauce and vanilla to the butter and sugar and mix well.
  4. Now, add the “wet” mixture to the large mixing bowl with the flour and mix well. Finally, add in the mashed bananas and walnuts and stir to combine all ingredients.
  5. Spoon the bread mixture into your prepared bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, on the center rack, for about 60 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick. Remove from oven and allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes.
