Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground turkey 85% - 90% lean ground turkey.
  • 3/4 cup oats uncooked
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic 5 - 6 cloves minced.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease or spray a 9x5 loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.*
  • Add the oats and milk to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well, I use my hands, to combine all of the ingredients.
  • Once your meat mixture is ready, put it into the loaf pan and form your loaf. Gently press it, creating an even loaf, then smooth over the top. Do NOT put the glaze on yet. You glaze the loaf after the first half of baking.
  • Put the loaf into your preheated oven, on the middle rack, and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While the meatloaf is in the oven, add all of the ingredients for the glaze to a bowl and stir well to combine. Set aside.
  • After the meatloaf has baked for 30 minutes, carefully remove it from the oven, then spoon the glaze onto the meatloaf and smooth out. Put the glazed meatloaf back into the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Carefully remove the glazed turkey meatloaf from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 5 - 10 minutes prior to slicing.

Notes

  • I used a 9.25 x 5.25 x 2.75 loaf pan.
  • Ovens can vary. The second half of baking could take 30 - 40 minutes but check after 30 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature is at least 165F.
