Ingredients

  • 12 ounces broccoli fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic 3-4 fresh garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon tamari see notes
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds white or black
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes see notes
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the broccoli florets onto the prepared baking sheet and spray or toss with avocado oil. Arrange the broccoli into a single layer, without crowding, and season lightly with salt and pepper. Place onto the center rack of your preheated oven and roast at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
  • While the broccoli is in the oven, make the garlic sesame sauce. Add the minced garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, crushed red pepper, tamari, sesame oil, and apple cider vinegar to a small bowl, then whisk to combine.
  • After the broccoli has roasted for 12 minutes, carefully remove from the oven and drizzle with the garlic sesame sauce, then stir or toss to combine.
  • Return the broccoli to the oven and roast for an additional 5 - 10 minutes, or until the broccoli is cooked to your liking. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Tamari - I use gluten-free tamari but you can also use soy sauce as a substitute.
  • Crushed red pepper flakes - this adds a little heat but you can omit if you do not like spicy food or just add a pinch.
