1tablespoonMaple extract
1tablespoonBourbon*see notes
1teaspoonAvocado oilor olive oil
1 teaspoonCinnamon
1/4teaspoonSalt*see notes
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add the maple extract, bourbon, oil, cinnamon, brown sugar stevia and salt to a bowl and stir well or whisk to combine the ingredients until the brown sugar stevia mostly dissolves into the liquid.
Add the pecans to the bowl, then stir until the pecans are all completely coated. Spread the pecans into a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet, then place onto the center rack of your preheated oven.
Bake for 10 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Carefully remove them from the oven, stir, then return to the oven and continue baking them for an additional 5 - 8 minutes. Watch them during the last few minutes so they do not burn.
Remove the pecans from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
Notes
These Maple Bourbon Pecans only have 1 net carb per serving. You can easily make a double batch to serve at a party or save for later. Store them in an airtight container.
Bourbon - You can also use vanilla or bourbon extract if you do not want to use alcohol.
Brown Sugar Stevia - Multiple brands offer a Brown Sugar Stevia Blend. You can also use regular brown sugar if you are not trying to cut carbs or sugar out of your diet. For a subtly sweet pecan, use only one tablespoon of brown sugar stevia or you can even omit the sugar altogether, which I have done many times and is a great option if you are adding them to a savory recipe.
Salt - You can use an extra 1/4 tsp (1/2 tsp total), for a sweet & salty flavor.
