Stovetop Mac and Cheese

This Easy Stove Top Mac and Cheese is made in one pot and it's creamy, cheesy and super yummy! The best macaroni and cheese ready in 15 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. macaroni dry, uncooked pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups vegetable broth or water
  • 3/4 teaspoon seasoning salt or to taste

Instructions

  • In a large pot, melt the butter into the olive oil over medium heat. Add the flour to the melted butter, and stir to combine for about 1 minute.
  • Add the vegetable broth and whisk to combine. Then add the milk and seasoning salt and whisk to combine. Bring just to a simmer, then stir in the dry, uncooked pasta. Keep at a simmer, reducing heat if needed, and stir occasionally for about 7 - 10 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked al dente.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, remove from heat and stir in the cheese until melted. You can add additional salt and pepper to taste if needed.
