- 4 ounces white wine (see notes)
- 1 ounce sparkling mineral water (or club soda)
- 2 - 3 fresh strawberries (stems removed and sliced or chopped.)
Optional:
- sweetener (see notes)
- 1 squeeze fresh lemon juice
Fill a glass with ice, then add the sliced strawberries, white wine, and sparkling water, and stir, or add everything to a shaker, shake, then pour over ice. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Optional: Lightly smash 1 strawberry with a little sweetener and a squeeze of lemon juice, then add to the bottom of the glass or shaker before preparing the rest of the drink for a more flavorful cocktail.
This is a beautiful cocktail to serve with brunch since it pairs well with breakfast foods.
White Wine: You can use sparkling white wine, like prosecco or cava, or use a still white wine such as sauvignon blanc for a less bubbly beverage.
Sweetener: You can sweeten to taste with your choice of sweetener, including stevia, monk fruit, sugar, honey, or agave nectar.
Tip: To make a larger batch to serve more, or to make it "sangria-style", you can easily double, triple, or quadruple the recipe by adding everything to a pitcher.
