Homemade Brownies
These easy homemade brownies with butterscotch ganache are super moist and delicious! Fudgy chocolate brownies with chocolate chips on the inside and drizzled with butterscotch ganache. They are such a decadent treat and a totally irresistible dessert for any occasion.
I know it is very tempting to just grab a box of brownies off the shelf at the store. Trust me, I have done it! However, these delicious brownies are almost just as quick and easy to make, they are made in one bowl, but the results are so much better! My daughter said these are the best brownies ever! Yes, she really said that, and I could tell by her enthusiasm that she truly meant it, which really made my day.
Don’t like butterscotch? That’s okay. You don’t even have to add the butterscotch ganache if you don’t want to. These chocolate brownies are fantastic even without the ganache. However, if you just don’t like butterscotch, you can easily make a chocolate ganache by using chocolate chips in place of the butterscotch chips. The result will be some fabulous super chocolate brownies!
I hope that you all enjoy the brownies! Happy baking!

How to make Easy Homemade Brownies
First, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease or spray an 8 x 8 baking dish. Tip: You can also line the dish with parchment paper instead and use it to easily pull out the brownies when they are finished. This makes it easier to cut and decorate them with the ganache.
Melt the butter in a large microwave-safe mixing bowl in 30-second increments. Add the sugar and stir well to combine. Then beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the cocoa powder, flour, and salt to the bowl and stir to combine. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Bake on the center rack at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 24 to 29 minutes. Do not overcook your brownies, do a toothpick test in the center after 25 minutes. It should come out moist, not wet, when they are done.
Carefully remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely before cutting them or adding the ganache.
While the brownies are cooling, make the ganache.
How to make Butterscotch Ganache
Heat the heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl on high for 45 seconds. Stir in the butterscotch chips until they are completely melted, smooth and creamy. You can heat in the microwave in 15-second intervals if needed to melt the chips all the way.
Finally, once the brownies have cooled, drizzle the butterscotch ganache over the brownies. You can do this before or after you cut them, depending on when you are serving them and how you would like them to look. You can add as much ganache as you would like. Just remember that butterscotch is a strong flavor, so a little goes a long way. You can also make whatever design you would like. Have fun and enjoy!
