Ingredients

  • 1 15 oz. can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice (juice of 1 lemon)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons cold water add more if needed

Instructions

  • Add the drained and rinsed chickpeas, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice to a food processor and blend in 15-second intervals, scraping the sides if needed in between intervals for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the ingredients are fully combined and the hummus is smooth and creamy.
  • To create a smoother hummus, add 2 tablespoons of cold water to the hummus and blend for 1 more minute or until you reach your desired consistency. You can add a little more water if necessary. Do a taste test and add additional salt if needed. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Hummus can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • You can use store-bought tahini or this easy Sunflower Tahini that is super yummy!

Hummus Toppings

For serving, add a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of paprika, fresh herbs, or add toppings of choice. I like to add nuts and seeds to hummus...
