Grilled Marinated Chicken Breasts

I can’t count how many times I have had grilled chicken breasts that were dry and flavorless. These grilled marinated chicken breasts are so flavorful and juicy! They are also so quick and easy to make! You can use this grilled chicken in so many ways! Slice it up and make chicken tacos or toss it on a salad. Make a grilled chicken sandwich or a wrap. Or just eat it plain. It’s all good!

Try pairing this grilled chicken with my Grilled Garlic Green Beans. Just toss the chicken on the grill when the green beans are close to being done. This makes for a very simple, tasty and healthy meal that requires minimal effort but delivers lots of flavor. I love enjoying this meal outside on the deck!

It’s all about the marinade!

What makes this chicken so juicy and flavorful is the marinade. It is so easy, it only requires 3 ingredients. Italian dressing, soy sauce, and orange juice. I usually have these ingredients on hand, which means no extra trips to the grocery store. All you need to do is toss the ingredients in a gallon size storage bag and shake. Quick, easy and no dishes required!

I highly recommend using thin sliced chicken breasts. They absorb more of the flavor and cook more evenly, faster. If you do use regular chicken breasts you can pound them down. Please adjust cooking time and check for doneness. And of course, use organic chicken whenever possible. Add the thin sliced chicken breasts to the marinade. Seal and toss to coat. Refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours.

Grilling time!

Preheat your grill on medium to high heat. I cook on high heat since I like a little char. Place chicken on the grill and drizzle or brush with marinade. Close the grill. Grill chicken for about 3 – 5 minutes per side. May require more depending on thickness, so please check for doneness. Note: Chicken should be cooked to a temperature of 165°F (74°C). See the Garlic Green Beans on the top rack? Yummy!

Grilled Marinated Chicken Breasts
Instructions
  1. For the marinade: Combine the Italian dressing, soy sauce, and orange juice.
  2. Place the chicken breasts into a gallon size storage bag, then pour in the marinade. Seal and toss to coat. Refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours. Reserve some of the marinade.
  3. Preheat grill on medium to high heat.
  4. Brush the grill grates with oil. Place the marinated chicken onto the grill and brush with the reserved marinade. Close grill.
  5. Grill chicken for about 3 - 5 minutes per side. May require more depending on the thickness and your grill, so please check for doneness. Chicken should be cooked to a temperature of 165°F (74°C).
