Roasted Broccoli

Roasted Broccoli with parmesan cheese, garlic, and lemon juice is so much tastier than plain steamed broccoli. Roasting broccoli in the oven really elevates its flavor and texture. It is so easy to make and ready in less than 30 minutes. Since the broccoli florets are baked on a lined sheet pan, the cleanup is also super quick and easy!

Broccoli is so nutritious and versatile, so I make it at least 2 – 3 times per week, and this is my absolute favorite way to prepare broccoli. It is wonderful served as a side dish, but it is also a great addition to other recipes, like tossing it into some yummy Pasta. For a super cruciferous vegetable night, try serving it with some Creamy Cauliflower Risotto. If you would like an easy sheet pan dinner, you can serve this tasty broccoli with my Italian Roasted Shrimp. It’s a great combination for a delicious and healthy meal that’s low-carb, gluten-free, and great for a keto diet!

However you choose to serve it, I hope that you enjoy the Parmesan Roasted Broccoli!

Parmesan Roasted Broccoli Ingredients

This Parmesan Roasted Broccoli only requires 5 ingredients, plus salt and pepper.

  • Broccoli – Fresh broccoli florets cut into bite-sized pieces. I do not recommend using frozen broccoli since it does not turn out as well as fresh broccoli. I have tried it many times and the flavor and texture of frozen broccoli are always subpar.
  • Avocado Oil – Avocado oil is perfect for roasting since it has a high smoke point. However, olive oil works as a substitute.
  • Garlic – You can use garlic powder or fresh minced garlic.
  • Lemon Juice – Adding lemon juice to broccoli gives it a nice zing!
  • Parmesan – Freshly grated parmesan cheese works best.
  • Salt and Pepper – I use just a little bit of kosher salt and plenty of freshly ground pepper. Broccoli and pepper are best friends! This is my personal preference, so season the broccoli to your liking.

How to Roast Broccoli

To roast broccoli, first, preheat your oven to 415 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.

Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Place the broccoli onto the prepared baking sheet and toss the broccoli with 2 tablespoons of avocado oil. Arrange the broccoli in a single layer, without crowding, and season with salt and pepper. Use 2 sheet pans if necessary.

Place the broccoli onto the center rack of your preheated oven and roast at 415 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 – 12 minutes.

Roasted Broccoli on Baking Sheet Pan

While the broccoli is in the oven, add the lemon juice, garlic, and 1 tablespoon of oil to a small bowl and stir to combine.

After the broccoli has baked for 10 – 12 minutes, carefully remove from the oven and drizzle with the lemon garlic oil, then stir or toss to combine.

Place the broccoli back in the oven and bake for an additional 10 to 12 minutes, or until the broccoli is browned to your liking.

Once finished, remove the broccoli from the oven and sprinkle with the parmesan cheese, then toss to combine. Serve immediately and enjoy!
