Sesame glazed salmon is healthy and super yummy! This easy Asian salmon recipe is baked in the oven on a sheet pan and ready in 20 minutes!

Sesame Glazed Salmon
Salmon is the fish I make most often due to its many health benefits and I like to change it up for variety, so I created this sesame-glazed salmon recipe. This Asian-inspired roasted salmon with sesame glaze tastes amazing and is a delicious way to serve salmon. The sesame glaze tastes so good that I drizzle it on whatever side dish I am serving it with. I love sauce! So, if you are a fellow sauce lover, you might want to make a little extra glaze.

Sesame glazed salmon is versatile and pairs well with many things. It is wonderful served with Roasted Garlic Sesame Broccoli, also made on a sheet pan for an easy dinner with quick and easy cleanup. Plus, sesame salmon and broccoli make a healthy dinner combination that is low-carb, gluten-free, and keto-friendly if you use the suggested ingredients that I have listed below.

I hope you enjoy the Sesame Glazed Salmon!

Sesame Glazed Salmon Ingredients

  • salmon – I like to use fresh skinless salmon fillets since I am not a fan of dealing with fish skin. Plus, it also allows the marinade to soak in better. However, feel free to cook it with the skin on.
  • avocado oil – or olive oil.
  • garlic – minced fresh garlic cloves.
  • sesame oil
  • brown sugar – I use stevia brown sugar to keep it low-carb and sugar-free, but regular brown sugar works as well. You can also substitute the brown sugar with honey.
  • tamari – I use gluten-free tamari but you can also use soy sauce as a substitute.
  • apple cider vinegar
  • ginger – grated fresh ginger.
  • sesame seeds – white or black.
  • crushed red pepper flakes – This adds a little heat but you can easily omit or use less if you do not like spicy food. If you like it hot, feel free to use more!
  • green onions – sliced and sprinkled on top as garnish. This is optional.

Salmon Health Benefits

Salmon is high in protein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients. Studies have shown that incorporating salmon into your diet has many health benefits including improved heart, brain, and skin health. The selenium in salmon helps maintain proper thyroid function and the astaxanthin in salmon has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and helps prevent oxidative damage, improves cellular function, and boosts immunity. With all of these health benefits, salmon is an excellent choice if you want to add fish to your diet!

How to Make Sesame Glazed Salmon

To make the sesame-glazed salmon, first, make the marinade. Add the avocado oil, tamari, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, and crushed red pepper flakes to a bowl, then whisk to combine.

Place the salmon fillets into a sealable storage container or large bowl, then pour the marinade over the salmon filets. Allow the salmon to marinate for 1 hour or refrigerate overnight in a sealed container.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. If using foil, spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Place the marinated salmon fillets onto the prepared sheet pan and bake for 15 – 20 minutes, depending on the size and thickness of your fillets. It should flake easily with a fork.

While the salmon is in the oven, make the sesame glaze.
