Warm Cinnamon Apple Crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream… yum! Just wait until you smell the warm cinnamon, apples, and oats baking in the oven. This is a scrumptious and somewhat healthy dessert for the fall and winter season, or for whenever you need a little cinnamon apple goodness to spice up your life!
For this recipe, I used organic Fuji apples. They are sweet and delicious, plus those are the apples I always have on hand since they are my favorite. Many types of apples will work for this recipe, but I would recommend using a sweet apple. If you use apples that are naturally sweet, you do not need to use as much sugar. Honey Crisp and Golden Delicious are both great options because they are naturally sweet as well. You might notice that I try to use organic ingredients whenever they are available. You don’t have to, but I do recommend it whenever possible, especially when it comes to the apples.
Mmm… apples, cinnamon, and oats… this dessert is packed with nutrients and flavor! If you would like to enjoy a warm beverage with your cinnamon apple crisp, you could try a Butterscotch Latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte or a Mulled Apple Cider. I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients needed to make Cinnamon Apple Crisp:
Apple Mixture:
⦁ 5 cups of Apples – peeled and chopped (I used 2 large Organic Fuji Apples, my apples were quite large, you will probably need more than 2 if yours are smaller)
⦁ 1 tsp lemon juice
⦁ 2 tbsp light brown sugar
⦁ 1 tsp of organic whole wheat flour
⦁ 1/2 tsp of organic cinnamon
⦁ 2 tbsp water
Crumb topping:
⦁ 1/2 cup Organic Quick Oats
⦁ 1/2 cup of Organic whole wheat flour
⦁ 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
⦁ 1/4 cup of melted butter
⦁ 1/2 tsp of organic cinnamon
Optional: Vanilla Ice Cream
How to make Cinnamon Apple Crisp:
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then grease or spray an 8 x 8 baking or casserole dish.
Apple Mixture:
To get started, you will need to peel, core and chop the apples. Then, place the chopped apples in a large bowl. In a separate small bowl, add the water, lemon juice, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon and mix to combine. Pour the mixture over apples and toss. Then, pour the apple mixture into the baking dish.
Crumb Topping:
In the same empty bowl that you had the apples in, add the oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Then, mix to combine. While you are mixing, heat 1/4 cup of butter in the microwave. Then, add the melted butter to the bowl and mix until moistened.
Now, sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
Finally, place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 – 45 minutes. When it is finished baking, carefully remove the baking dish from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
Serve the Cinnamon Apple Crisp warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
