Mulled Apple Cider

Mulled Apple CiderHot Mulled Apple Cider is the perfect beverage to warm you up on a cold day. This recipe is made in a Crock Pot, so it is great for serving at holiday parties or get-togethers since the crockpot keeps it nice and hot. This recipe is so quick and easy with minimal effort but tastes and smells so wonderful! Plus, this tasty warm beverage is actually quite healthy. The lemon and honey have medicinal properties and are soothing for the throat. This is very helpful during the winter months! You can refrigerate the leftovers in a sealed pitcher and then reheat a cup in the microwave.

During the holidays, my daughter likes to enjoy her mulled apple cider with gingerbread cookies. Personally, I like to mix this apple cider with some freshly brewed tea to make an “Apple Cider Tea”. If you like tea, try it, you do not need to add anything else, just the tea and mulled apple cider. I use a 50/50 ratio for mine. Apple Cider

Ingredients need to make the Mulled Apple Cider in a Crock Pot:

  • 3 liters of apple cider
  • 1 orange – sliced
  • 1 lemon – sliced
  • 4 cinnamon sticks – about 3 inches long.
  • 1 teaspoon of whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons of honey

How to make Mulled Apple Cider in a Crock Pot:

Add all the ingredients to the crockpot and stir to combine. If you have a tea ball infuser, you can place the cloves in that and just drop it into the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours. Once finished, give it a good stir and set the crockpot to “keep warm” while serving. Cider in crockpot

Do not serve the cloves with the apple cider. If you did not use a tea infuser for the cloves, either avoid them when ladling the cider into mugs or, since they float to the top, just remove them by scooping them out of the crockpot. Ladle the cider into mugs and serve hot. Garnish with an orange or lemon slice and cinnamon stick if you would like. Enjoy!
