Baked Tilapia
Baked Tilapia with Garlic Lemon Butter is delicious and ready in 15 minutes. This easy fish recipe is made in one baking dish and is a great dinner option for busy weeknights!
I love a simple healthy fish dish but it can not be bland! This baked fish is so simple, yet it still delivers on flavor! It also pairs well with so many side dishes. This baked tilapia recipe is an awesome low-carb and gluten-free main course. If you want to keep it healthy and keto-friendly, try serving it with some Parmesan Roasted Broccoli. If you don’t care about the carbs, it’s great served with some crusty bread or some Easy Cheddar Biscuits!

Baked Tilapia Ingredients
- tilapia fillets
- butter – melted
- minced garlic
- lemon juice – Juice of 1 lemon plus extra lemon slices if desired.
- paprika
- salt and pepper – I use kosher salt and freshly ground pepper.
Optional garnish: Fresh chopped basil or other fresh herbs and lemon slices for serving.
How To Bake Tilapia
First, preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray. Place the tilapia fillets in the prepared baking dish.
Garlic Lemon Butter: In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Stir in the minced garlic and lemon juice to combine. Pour the garlic lemon butter evenly over the fillets.
Season the tilapia with salt and pepper then sprinkle with paprika.
Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 – 15 minutes or until the tilapia flakes easily with a fork.
Carefully remove from the oven and spoon the garlic lemon butter over the tilapia and garnish with herbs and lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately.

- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- salt and pepper to taste

Does the tilapia have to be thawed?
Yes, the fish should be thawed. I used fresh tilapia. If you are using frozen, let it defrost in the fridge overnight.

This was delicious. We love the flavor lemon so we added 5 tablespoons of it instead and place it on a bed of angel hair pasta. Entire family loved it. I will be definitely adding this to our regular dinner entrees.
