A Cranberry Mimosa, or Poinsettia, is a wonderful treat during the holiday season. This festive cocktail is perfect for Christmas brunch!
Cranberry Mimosas
Cranberry Mimosas are named “poinsettias”, and that is what this lovely holiday cocktail looks like, a poinsettia in a glass!
I love having a mimosa with Sunday brunch and this holiday version is delicious and so much fun! The vibrant colors, the fizzy pop, the fragrant rosemary, the tart cranberries… This beautiful beverage is simple, elegant, and sure to bring some holiday cheer!
Happy holidays! I hope that you enjoy the cranberry mimosa poinsettia. I wish you all a healthy and happy new year!
Poinsettia Cocktail Ingredients
Poinsettia cocktail ingredients are simple, yet the finished product is pretty impressive!
- champagne or sparkling wine – I use brut champagne.
- cranberry juice – I use cranberry juice with no added sugar, diet cranberry juice, to make a “skinny mimosa” that is low-carb and keto friendly.
- frozen cranberries – They help keep the mimosa chilled and provide a nice little snack when you are finished with your drink.
- fresh rosemary – This beautiful garnish smells amazing and really adds the final touch to give it that poinsettia look and feel.
How to make a Poinsettia Mimosa
Making a poinsettia mimosa is really quick and easy, it only takes a minute. First, you need to decide how many poinsettias you want to make. That will determine whether you should pop open an entire bottle or single serve “splits”.
The formula for 1 cranberry mimosa poinsettia is 3 ounces of champagne plus 2 ounces of cranberry juice. A single serve “split” is just over 6 ounces, so it will make 2 mimosas. A half bottle will make 4. If you open a full 750ml bottle, you will be able to make 8 cranberry mimosas! Please don’t drink all 8 by yourself. That’s way too much cranberry juice to have in one sitting!
Now, are we ready to make a poinsettia? Let’s do it!
To make 1 poinsettia, plop 4 – 6 frozen cranberries into a champagne flute. Pour 2 ounces of chilled cranberry juice over the cranberries, then pour in 3 ounces of chilled champagne. Garnish with 1 sprig of fresh rosemary. Voila! You just made a poinsettia! Cheers!
If you enjoy this tasty alcoholic beverage, you might also want to try a Light Cosmopolitan or an Espresso Martini!
