Dry Roasted Almonds are healthy and freshly roasted almonds taste better than store-bought. This is the easiest way to roast almonds at home!
I love almost all varieties of nuts, I am like a squirrel, but I eat more almonds than any other nut. They are tasty little suckers! I always roast almonds at home since they taste so much fresher than buying pre-roasted nuts at the store and roasting almonds at home allows you to control the roast. Just like freshly brewed coffee tastes better, so do freshly roasted nuts!
Dry-roasted almonds are super easy to make and not necessarily a recipe. This is just to show you how to roast almonds in the oven. I have some new recipes that I will be sharing soon that use dry-roasted almonds and freshly roasted almonds will produce the best result. You can use these almonds however you choose, but if you are looking for a delicious nut recipe with lots of flavor, I have listed some yummy roasted nut recipes below. But first, let us talk about all the health benefits of almonds.
Dry Roasted Almonds Health Benefits
These unsalted dry roasted almonds have many health benefits and are cooked without any added oil. They are a good source of nutrients including omega-3 and 6 fatty acids and they are naturally high in fiber, protein, calcium, manganese, vitamin E, riboflavin, and niacin. I buy organic almonds, which I recommend since they are healthier and cleaner without the use of chemicals.
Almonds are also one of the lowest-calorie nuts. They actually may be lower in calories than the label indicates. According to a new study by the USDA, almonds may contain about 15 – 25% fewer calories than what most US nutrition labels suggest, since the body does not absorb all of the calories contained in nuts. Since almonds are very satiating they can even help maintain a healthy weight. They have also been shown to support heart health and reduce blood pressure. Now, please excuse me while I go grab my big jar of almonds!

How to Dry Roast Almonds in the Oven
First, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. You will need a rimmed baking sheet or sheet pan to roast the almonds. You can line it with parchment paper or leave it unlined as long as it is clean. Note: You can roast as many almonds as you would like. However, I recommend making a small batch for the first time. Ovens can vary, as well as the size of almonds and personal preferences. Making a small batch first will allow you to adjust the roasting time. I like mine crunchy so I usually roast them for 14-16 minutes but check on them at the 12-minute mark. Burnt nuts are not good!
Pour the raw almonds onto the sheet pan and spread them into an even layer. Place the baking sheet onto the center rack of your preheated oven. Roast for 12 – 16 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit, or until the almonds are roasted to your liking.
Carefully remove the almonds from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet, for about 10 – 15 minutes. Almonds get crunchier once they have completely cooled.
Serve the roasted almonds fresh, use them in a recipe, or store them in an airtight container until ready to use. Storage Tip: I like to store my roasted almonds in a sealed mason jar in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.
I hope that you enjoy the almonds!
