Cajun Chicken Breasts

Baked Cajun Chicken

These Baked Cajun Chicken Breasts are tender, juicy and flavorful! This yummy chicken is so quick and easy to make and it only requires 3 ingredients.

Cajun means this chicken is going to have a spicy kick to it. You can easily adjust the level of spice to your own personal taste. This recipe can also be adapted with different spice blends. I used my homemade Cajun seasoning to make this chicken but you can also use your own. However, I highly recommend trying my spice mix, store-bought spice blends tend to be too salty.

This baked chicken is very versatile and can be used to make so many yummy things. You can slice up these Cajun chicken breasts and make a Cajun chicken pasta. See my Cajun Shrimp Pasta for the recipe instructions. It is quick, easy and you can make it while the chicken is baking. You could also make a Cajun chicken sandwich or salad, make Cajun chicken rice or whatever else your heart desires. How to make Baked Cajun Chicken Breasts

First, preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Place the chicken into the baking dish. Brush the chicken breasts with the melted butter on both sides. Pour any excess butter over the chicken. Sprinkle the chicken with the Cajun seasoning on both sides.

Bake the chicken at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 16 – 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit. I recommend using a meat thermometer. Cooking times can vary depending on the size and thickness. You do not want to overcook the chicken, but if the chicken breasts are very large they might need more time. I recommend checking at the 16 minute mark and go from there based on the temperature.

Once fully cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and cover the pan with foil. Allow the chicken to rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. Spoon the butter over the chicken and serve.
