Maple Bourbon Pecans are an addictively delicious crunchy sweet snack. These keto maple-glazed pecans taste like pecan pie without the carbs!
Maple Bourbon Pecans
These Maple Bourbon Pecans are so flavorful and super easy to make. You can have these tasty nuts ready in as little as 15 minutes! I used keto-friendly, plant-based ingredients to make this candied maple pecan recipe with only 1 net carb per serving. They make the perfect sweet snack for a low-carb, diabetic, or keto diet. These keto dessert nuts are also wonderful to serve at holiday parties or even to give as a gift.
I love nuts and I eat copious amounts of them. I normally prefer savory nuts. However, these sweet nuts are the exception. I must warn you, they are addictive and should be consumed responsibly. I made way too many “test batches” and proceeded to eat the entire batch, just to make sure they were really good for all of you. At least that is what I told myself to justify my gluttonous behavior. They just taste so good and the flavor reminds me of pecan pie. My daughter thinks they smell like cookies. The combination of maple, bourbon, cinnamon and brown sugar creates a comforting warm spice scent that smells heavenly. I want a candle that smells like this!
Roasted Maple Bourbon Pecans are great for snacking or dessert on their own, but they are also a wonderful addition to so many recipes. I have included some yummy ideas below!

Pecan Pairings
Keto Ingredients
I used all plant-based keto ingredients to make my maple bourbon glazed pecans. These tasty nuts only have 1 net carb per serving!
- Pecans – Raw pecan halves that are unsalted.
- Maple extract – Most recipes use maple syrup, which is high in sugar and carbs. Maple extract is sugar-free and has zero carbohydrates.
- Bourbon – I used Kentucky Straight Bourbon. It is also sugar-free and has zero carbs. Any bourbon will work. You can also use vanilla or bourbon extract if you do not want to use alcohol.
- Avocado oil – you can use olive oil as a substitute. I like to use avocado oil since it has a higher smoke point.
- Cinnamon – I always use organic ground Ceylon cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon contains all of the health benefits without the toxins that other cinnamon varieties contain. I consume a lot of cinnamon so this is a must for me. However, any cinnamon will work.
- Brown Sugar Stevia – Multiple brands offer a Brown Sugar Stevia Blend. You can also use regular brown sugar if you are not trying to cut carbs or sugar out of your diet. You can omit the sugar altogether for a subtly sweet pecan, which I have done many times. It is a great option if you are going to add them to savory dishes.
- Salt – Fine salt works best to dissolve into the liquid.
How to Make Maple Glazed Pecans in the Oven
To make the maple-glazed pecans, first, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add the maple extract, bourbon, oil, cinnamon, brown sugar stevia, and salt to a bowl and stir well or whisk to combine the ingredients until the brown sugar mostly dissolves into the liquid.
Add the pecans to the bowl, then stir until the pecans are all completely coated. Spread the pecans into a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet, then place the baking sheet onto the center rack of your preheated oven.
Bake the pecans for 10 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit, then carefully remove them from the oven. Stir the pecans, then return them to the oven and continue baking them for an additional 5 – 8 minutes.
Tip: I like to roast my nuts for the full 18 minutes since I like them to be crunchy. However, ovens can vary, so keep an eye on them during the last few minutes. Burnt nuts are not good. You could also need an extra minute or two, depending on your oven.
Remove the pecans from the oven and allow them to cool for at least 10 minutes. They get crunchier once they have cooled completely.
Once the pecans have cooled, serve the nuts in a bowl, add them to another recipe, or store them in an airtight container to save for later.
Tip: I like to store my nuts in a mason jar. You could easily do this and then wrap a ribbon around it to give as a gift.
I hope that you enjoy the maple bourbon pecans!
