Roasted Spanish Peanuts

These roasted Spanish peanuts are flavorful and super versatile. Spanish peanuts make a wonderful snack and are perfect for parties and game day. They are also wonderful added to various recipes or used to make peanut butter.

Roasted Spanish peanuts are so easy to make, and they taste much better than store-bought. Freshly roasted with so many flavors and seasonings to choose from, and can be customized to your preference. The only downside is that they are addictively delicious!

To be honest, I do have a little bit of a nut addiction. I must have been a squirrel in a previous life. My daughter didn’t fall far from the tree, and peanuts are her favorite, even though peanuts are technically a legume. She was my taste tester for all of my peanut flavor combinations, which was lots of fun! While I enjoy having them as a snack, I also add them to salads, smoothie bowls, chia pudding, brownies, cookies, French toast, fudge, noodles, waffles, and so much more! I hope you enjoy the roasted redskin Spanish Peanuts as much as we do.

Redskin Spanish Peanuts

Redskin Spanish peanuts are smaller than other types of peanuts and are known for their red skins and nutty flavor. Spanish peanuts have health benefits as well. Redskin peanuts are healthy due in part to their skins. The skins contain antioxidants, such as resveratrol, that protect cells from damage.

Spanish peanuts are high in protein and fiber and lower in net carbohydrates compared to other types of peanuts. A single serving contains only 1 net carb, making them a great low-carb snack for a diabetic, low-carb, or keto diet. Redskin Spanish peanuts are also a good source of vitamins and minerals, including copper, niacin, manganese, phosphorus, thiamin, and vitamin E. With all their extra flavor and health benefits, redskin Spanish peanuts are my favorite type of peanut!

Peanut Flavors

With a variety of peanut flavors to choose from, these roasted Spanish peanuts can be salty, savory, sweet, spicy, tangy, or a combination of flavors. Flavored peanuts can be seasoned, coated, or glazed to add flavor.

I have made more recipes for seasoned peanuts, and glazed peanuts in a variety of flavors to share with you . However, feel free to create your own peanut flavor profile or adjust the seasonings to your liking. The possibilities are endless, and if you do create something new, please share. I love new nutty ideas!

How to Roast Spanish Peanuts

This is how to roast Spanish peanuts in the oven, and you can make salted Spanish peanuts or dry-roasted Spanish peanuts.

First, preheat your oven to 325°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add the raw shelled peanuts to the prepared baking sheet, then pour the avocado oil over the peanuts and stir well until completely coated. Sprinkle with salt, stir, then spread the peanuts into a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Roasted Peanuts

Place the baking sheet onto the center rack of your preheated oven. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, checking after 15 minutes so they do not burn, since peanuts and ovens can vary. The peanuts should be golden and fragrant, not burnt.

Once the peanuts are cooked to your liking, carefully remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet, at least 10 – 15 minutes. Sprinkle with additional salt if desired.

Serve and enjoy, or store them in an airtight container to save for later.

Dry Roasted Peanuts

To make dry-roasted peanuts, simply follow the instructions above, but omit the oil. You may need to add an extra few minutes to the roasting time when making dry roasted Spanish peanuts, since the oil cooks the nuts faster, and it is what gives the peanuts a darker roast with more depth of flavor and crunch.

Notes

If you would like your peanuts to have a darker roast, with more depth of flavor and crunch, you can continue to roast for a few extra minutes. Roasting nuts longer brings out more of their flavor. However, ovens can vary, so proceed with caution, as the nuts will continue to cook for a few minutes once removed from the oven. I roast my peanuts for the full 20 minutes since I like dark roasted peanuts, but yours could be finished sooner, so keep an eye on them during the last few minutes.

Spanish Peanut Flavor

This roasted redskin Spanish peanut recipe is for salted Spanish peanuts, but I have a variety of Spanish peanut flavors to try, including savory peanuts, sweet peanuts, spicy peanuts, and tangy peanuts.
