Cinnamon Roasted Peanuts

This Sweet Cinnamon Roasted Peanuts recipe makes sugar-free candied peanuts that are perfectly roasted. These sweet peanuts are the best nuts for dessert!

Sweet Cinnamon Roasted Peanuts

Cinnamon Peanuts

Roasted cinnamon peanuts are candied peanuts coated in a cinnamon sugar glaze to caramelize the peanuts with flavor. These sweet peanuts have no sugar, are super yummy, and taste better than store-bought cinnamon-glazed peanuts. This cinnamon peanut recipe is quick and easy to make, stores well, and these tasty nuts can be used in so many ways. Just be careful, it is extremely difficult to eat just one serving. I have to put them into separate storage containers, or I could eat the entire batch, not joking.

Sweet cinnamon peanuts are the perfect protein-packed, low-carb dessert nuts for snacking and are wonderful added to sweet breakfast recipes. However, they are also delicious added to many savory dinner recipes, adding a touch of sweetness, spice, and crunch. Chopped, crushed, or whole, these peanuts make a great plant-based protein to use as a topping for saladssmoothie bowlschia pudding, brownies, French toastfudge, waffles, and more.

I hope you enjoy the Sweet Roasted Cinnamon Peanuts!

Sweet Peanuts Recipe Ingredients (Sugar-Free)

These sweet peanuts recipe ingredients are sugar-free. The cinnamon glazed peanuts have no sugar if you use the ingredients listed below, but can easily be adjusted and adapted to suit your personal taste. However, the zero sugar candied peanuts make a delicious snack or dessert for a diabetic, low-carb, or keto diet.

  • Peanuts: Raw, shelled peanuts. I use Spanish Peanuts, since they are more flavorful and lower in net carbohydrates than other types of peanuts.
  • Avocado oil: Works well since it has a higher smoke point than other oils and a neutral flavor.
  • Cinnamon: I always use organic ground Ceylon cinnamon.
  • Brown Sugar: I use a Brown Sugar Stevia that contains zero calories and zero sugar to keep the nuts lower in calories and carbohydrates. However, you can use regular brown sugar if you do not mind the added carbs, calories, or sugar.
  • Vanilla: Pure vanilla extract.
  • Salt: The salt is optional, but a little pinch of salt actually enhances the sweet peanut flavor.

How to Make Sweet Cinnamon Roasted Peanuts

To make sweet cinnamon roasted peanuts, first, preheat your oven to 325°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, avocado oil, vanilla, and water to a bowl, then whisk to combine until the sugar is dissolved. Add the raw shelled peanuts to the bowl and stir well to coat the peanuts in the vanilla oil mixture completely. Pour the peanuts onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and spread into a single layer, pouring any extra liquid in the bowl over the peanuts.

Place the baking sheet onto the center rack of your preheated oven and roast for 10 minutes. Carefully remove from the oven, stir, then return to the oven for an additional 5 – 10 minutes. Check the peanuts after 5 minutes to make sure they do not burn, since peanuts and ovens can vary. (I roast my peanuts for a total of 20 minutes.)

Once the peanuts are cooked to your liking, carefully remove them from the oven, stir well, and separate the peanuts so they do not stick together. Sprinkle the peanuts with a pinch of salt if desired.

Allow the peanuts to cool completely on the baking sheet for at least 10 – 15 minutes or more. Serve and enjoy, or store them in an airtight container to save for later.

Candied Peanuts Cinnamon Glaze

When making candied peanuts, the cinnamon glaze will be a liquid at first, then syrupy after roasting, and then the glaze will turn into a candy-like coating once the peanuts have cooled and dried completely.
