This dark roasted peanut butter recipe uses Spanish peanuts to make the best homemade peanut butter that’s healthy and super yummy!
Dark Roasted Peanut Butter
Dark roasted peanut butter is more flavorful and lower in carbohydrates than regular peanut butter since it is made with Spanish peanuts. This homemade peanut butter tastes so much better than store-bought!
Spanish Peanuts are naturally sweeter than regular peanuts, yet they have only 1 net carb per serving compared to the 3 net carbs that most other peanuts have. Spanish peanuts are also smaller, making them easier to blend into smooth, creamy peanut butter than common peanuts, but they make awesome crunchy peanut butter too!

Homemade Peanut Butter
Homemade peanut butter is the best! All you need to make this easy peanut butter recipe is roasted Spanish peanuts and a food processor. You can easily add honey, maple syrup, pumpkin spice, or other ingredients to make your own peanut butter flavor creation, which is super fun!
We eat a lot of peanut butter at my house, whether it’s spread on bread or used in recipes to make yummy desserts, breakfasts, or snacks! You can also use it to make salad dressing, add it to sauce for pasta and noodles, or even use it as a substitute for tahini to make hummus. I hope you enjoy the homemade Spanish peanut butter!

How to Make The Best Peanut Butter
Here is how to make the best peanut butter from the comfort of home!
First, make the roasted peanuts and allow them to cool completely. You can make the dry-roasted or salted peanut recipe variation if you want salted peanut butter. I always make mine in advance so they are ready, and I make a larger batch of the peanuts to make more peanut butter!

Next, add the roasted peanuts to a food processor and blend, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl every 30 seconds, until you have smooth, creamy peanut butter, crunchy peanut butter, or the consistency you desire. This process does require a little patience and many rounds of processing.
Store the peanut butter in an airtight container or jar at room temperature or in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy!
